Panda was my favourite toy when I drew this portrait of him in 1949, aged five. He was knitted for me by my Auntie Mary who had to provide several replacements as I frequently wore them out. This Panda was probably the replacement for the one I had to leave behind when I was released from isolation in hospital having had scarlet fever.
